Located at the basement of Takashimaya, Pique Nique serves variety of American comfort food from all day breakfast to desserts such as brownies, which make customers spoilt for choice. This place is always crowded, so try to avoid those peak hours if you don't wanna queue for too long!

they even have seatings around the pillar that situated in the centre of the place. Luckily the cafe wasn't that crowded when we reached there. We got ourselves nice sitting place too! xD
I personally quite like how the menu looks. Sorry but I can't seems to find a word to describe why I like the menu. I just like it! =P After looking through the menu front and back, we finally managed to decide what to order! Told you guys already, they really have many choices!
After a while chatting and updating each other's life in Singapore, our drinks were served. I ordered a Classic Vanilla Milkshake (SGD 8.00) while Raymond ordered an Iced Lemon Tea (SGD 5.00) and Kah Seng ordered himself a PB & J Milkshake (SGD 8.00).
My vanilla milkshake tasted quite sweet, which is something I don't really fancy. But it still tasted like the usual vanilla milkshake, thick enough and I hope the sweetness can reduce a bit though. Some of you might be wondering why I didn't order any coffee instead right? Cuz initially I was thinking of reserved it for our second round, but didn't get to drink any coffee on that day. Read on to find out why!
This is the ice lemon tea that Raymond ordered. There was a taste of bitterness mingling with a bit sweetness in the cup of ice lemon tea, according to Raymond. Well, guess that explained the small cup. Hmm...
Wait...what was insides the small cup besides the iced lemon tea? It's syrup, lol! This is the first time I ever saw a syrup that serve along with an ice lemon tea, usually only coffee or tea will serve along with this small cup of sugar syrup. *puzzled*
This is the PB & J milkshake ordered by Kah Seng. Don't ask me what is PB & J, cuz I myself also had been cracking my head deciphering it! Kah Seng told me that this tasted more like a strawberry milkshake, well, I wish someone can tell me what's PB & J stands for!
I ordered a Norwegian Benedict (SGD 14.00). It is made up of 2 poached eggs with toasted English muffins, smoked salmon, sour cream and served with side salad. The benedict tasted alright, not too awesome but I think most probably is the smoked salmon didn't tasted that good. But overall this is a can-try dish, just don't have too high expectation for it.
I don't know why recently I just addicted to poached eggs. I just feel like trying out every kind of egg benedicts whenever I saw this on the menu! Don't you just love to see the runny egg yolk when you cut the poached egg into half? I DO! xD
Kah Seng ordered The Big Breakfast Burger (SGD 14.00) which consists of beef patty, bacon, fried egg, grilled tomato, montery jack cheese, lettuce and sauteed onions. The presentation of the big breakfast burger was quite attractive, it might looked small but trust me, you will definitely feel super full after you finish the whole plate! My friend even had some difficulties in finishing the fries!
The whole plate was quite flavourful but it would be prefect if the beef patty wasn't that dry! The burger would definitely tastier if the beef patty is moisture enough. Haha, my friend Kah Seng told me that this is the first time that he used fork and knives to eat a burger instead of hand, lol!
Ok, here comes Raymond's Classique Croque Madame (SGD 14.00), which is a must-try when you are dining in Pique Nique! A highly recommended food that you gotta try!! I was kinda regret why I didn't ordered this in the first place after I tried this out. =( The sauce is seriously good and flavourful! =) *Thumbs Up*
This classique croque madame made up of classic french style toasted sandwich with Mornay cheese sauce and Paris ham served with fries and an fried egg. It taste as good as it looked! xD
Last but not least, is desserts time!! We ordered their Hot Iron Waffle (SGD 11.80) with maple syrup and one scoop of Salted Caramel ice cream on top. The waffle is fluffy and it's such a heaven on a plate when you had it together with icy cold ice cream. xD
They actually have desserts and macarons display at the counter there. You can buy some back for your family after you finish dining and it comes with a pretty box too! =)
I always feel grateful that I make a decision to join the XueJi a.k.a student journalist (学生记者/学记) last time. I get to know many great friends and lots of great people through this big family. Even though I didn't go back to see how's my junior doing, but I'm still glad that I'm part of the big family. So here is the picture of us! =)

Ok, almost forgot about the story of where I didn't get to drink my cup of coffee that day. Well, it was because it's hard to find a Starbucks with lesser people, so we wanted to go Xin Wang Hong Kong Cafe at Kovan. But who knows that that place was full too! Urgh, it's just so not our luck. So we ended up having our second round at a small western restaurant in Aljunied, and by that time I was already way too thirsty for a cup of coffee, so just ended up with cold green tea, lol!
Happy Saturday everyone! Till then, annyeong! Xoxo, Phoebe. :)
