It's been quite long time since I last had a PROPER breakfast or brunch, too lazy to go out lately. >.< So finally I managed to drag myself out from my slumber land and met up with my bestie, Alexis for breakfast. Of course she will have the first priority since she traveled to Singapore. (When is your turn Shing?! xD)
I decided to go to Five and Dime which is located at River Valley (which is quite "ulu" by the way) as I saw this place received quite a few of good reviews on its food and the dining environment. =) I wanna said a BIG thanks to my friend, Tuckh Poon for finding out the way to get to the destination =P
After almost half an hour of walking, we finally reached! xD God knows how sunny it was... >.< While we were waiting for Alexis's boyfriend, Ah Fui to join us, we were also waiting for our table. So here's a little reminder for you all, please make a reservation before you come as this place is very crowded during weekend. >.<
This post supposed to be up quite long time ago, but yet due to the malfunction of my keyboard, I only got to put all these posts up now. =( This cafe is one of the cafe on my lists that I wanted to pay a visit in Lavender area. (Another one that I wanted to go so badly is the Chye Seng Huat Hardware which is very famous for its coffee!)
It's very hard to tell from the exterior of the place that it is actually a cafe. And what makes it even harder to find out the place is they have no signboard at all. Like no any signs written "Bravery Cafe", but you can tell that it's a cafe cuz you can see that there are people chilling and enjoying their cuppa coffee inside, lol.
It was a rainy Sunday and I met up with Esther, who is Alice's best friend and somehow now become my friend too, haha. Life itself sometimes is weird yet wonderful at the same time, what fated is fated, you can never tell what's gonna happens next right? =)
Hahaha, was wondering what kind of title should I use for this post then suddenly Gwen Stefani's song "Sweet Escape" came to my mind, lol~ Not really a vacation but you know, just a short getaway from my current stagnant life routine, to give myself a short break. (Wells, I would love to take a long break but my financial condition certainly won't allow me to, sigh..)
It was a last minute planning, so after discussed with my bestie Alexis for a few times and she got place for me to stay over and she got time to spare for me, so I just bought ticket and headed to KL to find her! Haha, kinda random but that's the adventurous part right? xD
Initially Alexis told me we can go to the Sepang Gold Coast if I can reached there around 12pm, but unfortunately I was late and unable to get myself a cab due to heavy raining early in the morning!! WTH RIGHT?!! Out of so many days it didn't rain but on the day I wanted to go out, it actually rain cats and dogs!! Urghhh~! >.<
Since by the time I reached KL is already 3pm, so the plan going to Sepang Gold Coast have no choice but to cancel! *Sob Sob* Imagine if I can swim and enjoy some picturesque scenery there, oh my god, at least it will give me more like a vacation-feel...
Had a short getaway not long ago (will have a post about my short getaway soon! ^.^) and finally get a chance to try out this Plan B restaurant. Plan B got a few outlets in KL such as in Bangsar Village, One Utama, Paradigm Mall, etc., and I went to the Mid Valley one.
Heard of this Plan B before cuz they just opened their first outlet in Ipoh not long ago. But still, I could hardly get the chance to try it out since I mostly won't be eating out when I'm in Ipoh. (Of course gonna eat my mum's home-cooked food when I'm back in Ipoh! xD)
The place was crowded even though by the time we reached there is already around 2pm. *faint* Fortunately we don't have to wait for long to be seated. The place is spacious and have this modern feeling, and they also have alfresco dining area! =)
Selfish Gene Cafe, such an interesting name isn't it? Haha, will tell you guys more about their name later on. Usually I seldom (or almost never?) will go to a cafe alone, but that day I managed to do so!! Hahaha, kinda happy about it, lol. (Can considered as an achievement for successfully taking the first step!! =P)
Hidden away from the hustle and bustle of a crowd area, this cafe located somewhere at Outram/Tanjong Pagar area. Guess you must be wondering why they name the place "Selfish Gene". They had always been rather selfish when come to food, not that never or unwilling to share the food, but rather they will not serve anyone food that he would not eat himself.
Although my friend told me that it would be easier if I walk from Outram MRT station but since I'm already in Raffles Place, so might as well I just walked to Tanjong Pagar and start from there?
I just don't know why can't bring myself to blog about my experience to this cafe, just keep on dragging and dragging.. =( I've went to this Penny University like, for ages? Lol! Probably I'm just too lazy, you know, to recall and write it out, but this seriously must be done fast!!!! >.<
It was on a Sunday (Once upon a time... lol.) and after lunch at this Beach Road Prawn Mee Eating House at Katong, we went for some "high-tea" time at Penny University which just located nearby. (Just to let you guys know, the prawn mee here taste super good! *Thumbs up!* Should go try if you guys are around or making a trip to Penny University. =))
Penny University is a term that originated from 18th century coffeehouses in London, England. For the price of a penny, one had access to coffee. It is an artisanal cafe born out of a love of coffee discovered in London.
I know I've been a cafe-craze person recently (or maybe all along I am. xD), probably due to I've been reading too much food blogs which all featured DAMN NICE food!! Urghh, they all just got the power to makes me drool~~~~ *wiping my mouth now, lol!*
If you are looking for a place to spend your lovely weekend's morning or have a pleasing brunch, Kith Cafe is no doubt quite a good choice! =) But mind you, better go early or else you might need to wait for quite a while cuz this cafe is definitely more crowded than you thought!
A small reminder here for those of you who never visit this cafe before, you must write down your name and leave your contact no. at the note book they provided on the door, cuz they don't go by first come first serve this rule, lol.
It was on a Saturday afternoon where me and my friends just finished lunch at Lavender Food Square. This place sounds familiar right? Haha, yeah again, we went there for the prawn mee there since I promised Jermaine to bring her and tried it out, together with her cousin. =) Anyway, we decided to go for somewhere to chill and I suggested to go to this Symmetry Cafe that I saw from this cafe hopping blog.
The Symmetry Cafe located somewhere in between Lavender and Bugis, more accurately, it is located at the Jalan Kubor, opposite Santa Grand Hotel Bugis. It is a super "indie" cafe, it just gives you the indie feel, be it on the looking or the style of the cafe.
